Dog Sprinter Buddy Streeper Posts Fastest Time in Day One of
International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race
Jackson, Wyoming—January
24, 2004—Blaine "Buddy" Streeper, from Fort Nelson, British Columbia,
posted the fastest time on day one of the International Pedigree Stage
Stop Sled Dog Race with a time of 0:08:10. Wendy Davis from Chatham,
Michigan, was second with 0:08:49; Robyn Smith from Forest Lake,
Minnesota, was third with 0:09:21.
Nineteen
teams from Canada and the U.S. left the Jackson starting line in
three-minute intervals beginning at 10:00 a.m. Team order for Stage One
of the IPSSSDR, departing from Lake Viva Naughton outside Kemmerer on
Sunday, January 25, 2004, was determined by the times of todays race,
with the fastest teams departing last in the lineup.
With its unique “Stage Stop” racing format, the race stops in a
different Wyoming community each night from January 24 through January
30, 2004. Following Evanston/Diamondville the race continues on to
Evanston, Mountain View/Lyman, Alpine, Pinedale and Lander before
finishing at Teton Village in Jackson Hole. Towns host festivities for
mushers and spectators ranging from junior dog sled races for children,
dog parades and ice sculpture contests, to banquets, carnivals and
fishing derbies.

is the title sponsor of the IPSSSDR. During the 2004 IPSSSDR, Pedigree
will host a daily web cast on its web site, www.pedigree.com that will
feature video footage of the race. To support local pet adoption
efforts, Pedigree will make a donation to animal shelters nationwide for
each visitor to the site during the race.
