Ten Towns Roll Out the Red
Carpet for IPSSSDR Tenth Anniversary
Jackson, Wyoming—Towns on the
2005 International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR)
route have announced celebrations to take place
during the race’s ten-year anniversary run, January 28
through February 5, including a torchlight parade, pig
roasts, bands, fireworks, snowman contests, snowshoe
softball, and pancake feeds.
“We are anticipating a very
exciting race as we celebrate ten years,” announced Race
Director Frank Teasley. “This race is all about the host
communities, and this year they’ve outdone themselves.”
With its unique “Stage Stop”
racing format, the race stops in a different community each
night. The race kicks off in Jackson Hole on January 28 at
7:00 p.m. from the Jackson Hole Town
Square. For the first time, the race will depart
Jackson at night, and will follow a new course from
the Town Square to Snow
King Resort. Jackson
Hole Winter Carnival activities, including a bonfire
and fireworks, will
welcome mushers to the finish line at Snow King resort.
Host-town festivities continue throughout the week in
Lander, Pinedale, Kemmerer/Diamondville, Evanston,
Lyman/Mountain View, and Alpine, then finish in Park City
with the final stage and awards ceremony.
Pedigree® Food for Dogs is the
title sponsor of the IPSSSDR. The Pedigree brand is
passionate about dogs and committed to providing them with a
lifetime of health and eating enjoyment from foods that are
best suited to a dog’s true nature. This superior
understanding of dogs insures that the Pedigree brand
supports activities and events in which the welfare of dogs
always comes first. The dog-friendly nature of the IPSSSDR
is one of the prime reasons the brand has chosen to support
this national competition. In addition, Pedigree will
support local pet adoption efforts during the IPSSSDR with a
donation of pet food to animal shelters on the race route.
The International Pedigree
