Sprints to Win Day Four of IPSSSDR, Captures Overall Lead

Lincoln,
Montana,
posted the fastest time in Day Four of the International
Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR) with a time of
2:22:11.
Doug Swingley from Lincoln,
Montana, was second in today’s contest in
2:25:56.
Grant Beck from
Yellowknife,
NWT,
Canada
finished third in
2:26:09.
In overall times,
Shirilla, who was the first woman to win the International Pedigree
Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR) in 2002, moves to first place with an
overall time of
9:21:53.
Jacques Philip from
Nenana,
Alaska,
is in second place with a time of
9:39:32.
Beck is third overall with a time of
9:44:16.
Teams pushed off from
the starting line at Upper Green River Lakes Parking Lot at
9:00 a.m.
on the 33 mile run into Pinedale. Following today’s
race, mushers travel to Alpine where they will begin Day Five at
9 a.m.
February 1. The Kemmerer/Diamondville stage takes place on February 2,
followed by Evanston/Mountain View, February 3; and
then concluding in
Park City,
Utah, for
the final stage and awards ceremony on February 4.
