Morning of Stage 2 in Lander

Good morning Pedigree Stage Stop Race Fans.

We are gearing up for Stage 2 at Sinks Canyon this morning. This race route has not been run in several years, due to low snow. There is no shortage of snow this year in Lander, actually quite the opposite. And the whole region is still under a winter weather advisory until later this afternoon. Temperatures are supposed to drop throughout the day. By tonight we could see 20 below.

Despite all of the fresh snow yesterday at Blackrock, most teams spoke highly of the trail conditions and were generally pleased with their runs. Anny Malo has a 4 minute lead over Alix Crittenden who is running a team out of race founders Frank Teasley’s Jackson Hole Iditarod Tours Kennel.
