Competition and cash

Those are the main things that draw mushers near and far to the Pedigree Stage Stop Race.

Here is a list of the final payouts for 2019, with a special thanks to our continuing title sponsor Pedigree. Your unwavering support and belief in us is heartfelt and proves the tight-knit unit we call the Stage Stop Family.

With all the competing mushers now back home or at their next races, we also thank you for your support of the 2019 Pedigree Stage Stop Race. You brought our vision to reality and helped make it happen!

Congratulations to this year’s champion, Anny Malo! You were in the mix every day.

Also a huge nod of appreciation to this year’s Sportsmanship Award recipient, Laura Daugereau.  Her uncanny way of bringing morale up at the staging area and on the trail is just a small example of what it takes to be a great musher, competitor, and friend. This award is not always given every year, making it even more coveted.

This year was especially exciting and challenging with all the new changes to format and new competitors. It was the most diverse field I can remember, and the first time the top three spots were taken by female competitors:  Anny Malo, Emilie Entrikin, and Alix Crittenden.

To the entire race crew, the host towns, and all those who work behind-the-scenes for the event, my hat’s off to every one of you for your unwavering support and dedication.

With the 2020 race on the horizon I invite you all to help make our 25th year a grand celebration. We’re getting dialed in, so suit up and show up. I know many of you are already making plans for next year.

See you in Jackson the last Friday in January 2020.
